Challange 2015_words_DSC_0485

“Not only are our dogs experts at fetch, masters of digging and specialists in slobbery kisses, but they may also hold the key to helping us unlock a better understanding of how we treat disease.”

In 2015, the Charitable Trust raised $9000 through the yearly cancer challenge, that amount was matched by AKC-CHF. The funds were donated to the AKC Canine Health Foundation study Disrupting the Differentiation of Cancer Stem Cells to Prevent the Spread of Hemangiosarcoma. We have donated a total of  $153,150 (including matching funds) since 2011. In 2015, wet also donated $1000 to AKC-CHF’s Old Dogs Rule campaign that focuses on senior dog health and wellness.

In September 2015, the Trust sponsored the health seminar at the BCCA National Specialty, fulfilling one of our organization’s purposes – education. All costs of the presentation were covered; there was no charge for attendees. We have sponsored the health seminar for the 2016 National Specialty.

We couldn’t do this without the generosity of Bearded Collie breeders, owners, and lovers of the breed like you.
