Beardies touch our lives in wonderful ways: there is the one that hunts inanimate objects around the house, or sits patiently looking up a tree for squirrels, or nudges you because you have a treat in your pocket – they make us smile every day. As we approach this giving season, it’s time to remember all the precious beardies in our lives and help provide them with the best gift ever – the gift of health.

We urge you to consider a donation to help fund important research on cancer. The funds raised will go to support cancer research through the Morris Animal Foundation, where a dedicated group of supporters have agreed to match all gifts, dollar for dollar, up to $217,000 – now through December 31.

In the eight years since the Trust was established, thanks to the generosity of Bearded Collie breeders, owners and lovers of the breed, we have raised funds to donate –

  • $106,075 to canine cancer research through the Morris Animal Foundation and AKC’s Canine Health Foundation (matching funds for some years brought the total to $154,150)
  • $9068.58 to Beardie Rescue
  • $3347.53 to sponsor health/education seminars at the 2014 – 2017 BCCA Nationals, fulfilling one of our purposes, education
  • $1000 for Old Dog research
  • $1000 to the Rabies Challenge Fund
  • $1000 to Dr. Anita Oberbauer’s research into SLO in Beardies
  • $1000 to Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine’s cancer research fund

We couldn’t do this without the generosity of Bearded Collie breeders, owners, and lovers of the breed like you.
